Speak Up! 5 Signs You Are Ready For Your Esther Season
What if today, your bravery could change the course of someone’s life? What if God has uniquely positioned you to solve a problem that only you can address? And what if all He’s asking is for you to use your voice—despite the risks, fear, or pushback?
Esther knew this journey all too well.
An orphan and a Jewish girl living in exile, Esther was the least likely candidate for royalty. Yet, God placed her in the palace, hidden in plain sight, for a divine purpose. Stripped of her old life, she endured a year of preparation—not just physically but spiritually and emotionally. God was preparing her heart for something greater. She didn’t realize it at first, but she was being raised up to save God’s people.
All she had to do was say yes.
Yesterday, I glanced at the clock and saw 4:14.
Instantly, I was reminded of Esther 4:14: “And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” Later that night, I dreamed of four brilliant rainbows. In Hebrew, the number four is represented by a letter (dalet) that derives from a root meaning "door" or "gate.”
I believe the Lord Jesus is speaking of open doors and the completion of four seasons. Your year of preparation has led you to this very moment.
All those promises God whispered to your heart are about to be unveiled. The path ahead may not be easy, but through your obedience, others will come to know Jesus Christ.
Friend, what if your “royal position” isn’t a palace but your workplace, social media, a business, your family, or community? What if the very place where God has planted you is the stage for His plans to unfold?
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is saying, “Answer your Esther assignment.”
Yes, it will require bravery. Not everyone will understand. Some may criticize or walk away. But do it anyway. There is freedom in your voice. God has placed something unique in you—your story, your heart, your gifts—that the world desperately needs.
Even your pain and trials have refined you for this moment. Jesus Himself reminds us, “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first” (John 15:18).
What if your obedience sets others free? What if your “yes” becomes someone’s lifeline? What if your willingness to follow Jesus saves the kids in your family and impacts generations?
You don’t need to have it all figured out. Just start.
Speak up.
Share your story.
Stand for truth.
Heaven is watching, and so are those who need the courage your voice will bring.
Jesus has called you to this moment. Will you be brave? Will you say yes?
You were born for such a time as this.
Throughout Scripture, God has a way of preparing His chosen ones in the hidden places, long before He elevates them to fulfill their divine purpose. Think of Moses, who spent 40 years in the wilderness tending sheep before God called him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt.
Consider David, anointed as a young shepherd boy, who didn’t take the throne until about 15-20 years later. Those seasons of hiding in caves and fleeing for survival were not wasted—God was shaping David into the warrior, leader, and king he was destined to be.
Esther’s journey was no different. She grew up far from the world of royalty. Yet, through divine positioning, she was brought into the palace and chosen to be queen.
Esther’s preparation wasn’t just about beauty treatments and palace etiquette; it was about heart transformation. The Lord also trained her up to be BOLD.
God used her unique story, experiences, beauty, and personality to prepare her for the role she was created to fulfill. And just as Mordecai guided Esther, the Holy Spirit serves as your guide, leading and preparing you for your God-given assignment.
Here are some signs that you are ready to step into your Esther assignment….
1). You’ve Been Tested in Hidden Seasons
God often works in the unseen parts of your life, refining you when no one else is watching. For Esther, this hidden season involved leaving her old life behind and undergoing a year of preparation.
She was stripped of her familiar surroundings and immersed in a process that would prepare her not only physically but also spiritually and emotionally for her royal role.
Perhaps you’ve experienced something similar. You’ve been in seasons where it felt like nothing was happening—where you were overlooked or misunderstood. Yet, in those moments, God was building your character, testing your faith, and teaching you to trust Him fully.
If you’ve felt the weight of being in the background yet continued to serve God faithfully, this is a sign He is preparing you. The hidden seasons aren’t wasted; they are where leaders are forged.
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.” (Luke 16:10)
2). You’ve Learned to Rely on God’s Guidance
Esther had Mordecai to guide her, offering wisdom and direction as she navigated her new life in the palace. When the time came for her to make a life-changing decision, Mordecai’s words helped her see the bigger picture: her position wasn’t for her benefit alone—it was for the deliverance of her people.
In your life, the Holy Spirit plays this guiding role. He whispers to you, nudges you, and aligns your steps with God’s purpose. If you’ve learned to rely on His voice, even when it challenges your comfort or plans, you’re stepping into a readiness to fulfill your assignment.
You’ve always had a desire to be kind, to love others, and to seek justice. These qualities are evidence of the Spirit working in you. Like Esther, you are being molded into someone who doesn’t just follow the status quo but dares to follow God’s call, even when it’s uncomfortable. Modern day Queen Esthers have the ability to see life through the eyes of eternity.
“But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth.” (John 16:13)
3). You’ve Found Favor Without Compromising Who You Are
Even before Esther became queen, she found favor with people. There was something about her demeanor—her humility, kindness, and quiet strength—that made people take notice.
In the same way, God has placed qualities in you that draw others to you. Whether it’s your compassion, your ability to listen, or your courage to speak up for what’s right, these are markers of someone prepared by God. You’ve always had a heart to love others deeply and to serve selflessly, and God is using those traits to position you for greater influence. Please understand that your tenderness, compassion and boldness are your superpowers. Always lead with these qualities.
Favor doesn’t mean life will be easy. For Esther, favor meant responsibility. Her willingness to honor God in the little things prepared her to take on the weight of her calling when the time came.
“Now the king was attracted to Esther more than to any of the other women, and she won his favor and approval...” (Esther 2:17)
4). You’ve Endured Challenges That Have Strengthened Your Faith
Esther’s life was marked by loss and hardship. Losing both her parents could have made her bitter or broken, but instead, God used it to refine her. Her challenges gave her a depth of character and a reliance on Him that prepared her for the weight of her calling. Although God is not mentioned in the Book of Esther, it’s clear that He’s working behind the scenes.
Maybe you’ve faced rejection, heartbreak, or seasons of uncertainty. But instead of giving up, you’ve leaned into God. You’ve let Him use those experiences to shape you into someone stronger, wiser, and more dependent on Him.
Your past isn’t a disqualifier; it’s part of the preparation. God has a way of turning your pain into purpose and your trials into testimonies. Jesus specializes in healing brokenness. He saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He sets the lonely in families (Psalm 68:6).
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
5. You’re Willing to Speak Up, Even When It’s Risky
When Esther approached the king to plead for her people, it was an act of extraordinary courage. Speaking up could have cost her life, but she understood that the fate of others was more important than her own comfort.
You’ve likely felt this nudge, too. Maybe you’ve had moments where speaking the truth went against the status quo, where it felt risky or even isolating. Perhaps others came against you the second you stood for truth. Maybe God wants you to use your voice to break toxic family patterns and generational strongholds. These will come with the most resistance, but you must tell the truth anyway. God’s approval is all that matters.
Your willingness to stand firm, even when it’s uncomfortable, is a hallmark of someone ready for their Esther assignment.
Esther’s words didn’t just save her people; they revealed her faith and trust in God. Your voice has the power to do the same. Even when you’re afraid, remember that God has placed you where you are for a reason.
“If I perish, I perish.” (Esther 4:16)
GOD HAS PREPARED YOU FOR THIS MOMENT
The journey to your Esther assignment may not have been easy, but every step has been necessary. The Holy Spirit has been preparing you, guiding you, and strengthening you for such a time as this.
God isn’t asking for perfection; He’s asking for obedience. He’s looking for those who are willing to say YES, even when it’s scary, even when it costs something.
You’ve been chosen, called, and equipped. The world needs your voice, your story, and your courage.
Step boldly into your Esther moment—you were made for this.
